The YSN G interview

Tell us about yourself and your music

YSN ( Young Solid Network) is a brand owned by myself and G3Musix ent. LLC is an independent label that I began in early 2017. I started making music when I was at the age of 14-15; started out producing EDM beats and later gravitated to a sound that I could more relate to like Hip-Hop & R&B. Growing up in a city and state where achieving a music dream is very far fetched, I’ve taught myself everything I could possibly know about the production side of things and Industry information, then vowed to pursue this music dream. Success in the music business is very seldom where I’m from, so as I turned 16-18 I planned strategically how I could improve myself daily towards this goal of mine. I then later developed a voice and idea to try and record myself to see how I would sound, of course, I liked what I heard and that’s when I knew I was Blessed to do music. My Music today comes from the long journey of learning life, as I get older, I try to pass experience and wisdom along in a song that could be relatable to someone who was exactly like me trying to ” figure it out”. The music I’ve made over time started to resonate a sound from the Carolinas and the south that not too many people have heard before; I Take pride in my music today because I Have this strong feeling that I will be the biggest name in the music business simply because my sound is unlike the rest and I’ve worked so hard independently to make everything that it’s Soon to become.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My Latest release ” No More Losses” is the Coming out album; It’s Not the first project but it will definitely be the first big album project from my independent Label as well as for the name YSN G. This project is giving a side of me that explains not only the hard things I’ve been through but the outcome of them all. The story behind the title comes from my experiences doing everything on my own and of course falling into some failures with Money, Bad deals, etc. along the way and “No More Losses” explains how a young guy from the Carolina’s who’s been through so much, finally puts his foot down and say’s that he won’t take any more defeat trying to pursue a Dream.

What inspired you to write this release?

I was inspired by Future’s album “The Wizard” , the very first song Keep Going was probably my biggest inspiration to actually write this release. This gave me a lot of help in what I wanted to talk about in this upcoming release because I knew at that time that I’ve been through so much and the only thing that could really keep me from losing my sanity is the music.

Describe the writing and recording process

The Process for me is quite catchy; I like to be alone in a setting where I can think most of the time, vibes are good but I’d rather my own energy be displayed on a song rather than the energies of the people I’m in the studio with. I’ll sit down and write some lyrics first to get an idea of what I want the feels to be on a record, then the rest of the song, I go completely off the top of my head and keep those feels going while recording.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

Yes I plan on doing a tour of shows very soon once my name is finally in the spotlight and the fans want to see an INCREDIBLE show.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Well for one, I can tell you that no other indie artist is doing it how I’ve done it; When it comes to My Music, I produce my own, distribute all content on my own and I’ve already signed Two other artists to my label already at the age of 22. I created this brand and I created this Label not only to support my musical journey but to accumulate REAL Great talent to bring along the way and teach what I’ve taught myself over years of hard work.

Who have you been listening to lately?

Lately I’ve been listening to alot of Hip-hop more specific Lil Baby;

My favorite Two artists Now and Forever will be Lil Wayne and Future for distinct sounds they have.

Who are your biggest influences?

Quincy Jones and Lil wayne are my Two biggest influences;

Quincy Jones is the biggest Music Mogul you can name and I’ve always looked up to him in everything music and life as well such a great person.

I am truly influenced by Lil wayne because of the impact he’s had on our entire Culture of Music before it changed again but he had the biggest impact on me being myself and not letting anyone detour me of who I am.

Tell us about your passions

I am Passionate About MUSIC and the Business of it; I tell people all the time, ” If I’d put this much effort into school and other things as I do music, I’d make straight A’s”

What else is happening next in your world?

I am solely focused on being the next biggest name in the world, creating the best music as possible and changing the music industry in ways unseen before.
