Tell us about yourself and your music
I’m primarily drawn to acoustic music. Specifically the guitar. I started playing when I was nine. Began performing professionally and writing songs when I was 17. Got into the coffeehouse circuit in the northeast. Eventually made it to LA then later ended up in Nashville during the eighties. Had some success with several singles cracking the top 40 in Billboard’s Hot Country Chart. That led to a major label deal with MCA/Universal and released the album “Different Circles”.
In 1999 I began a new chapter in my life when I realized my need for a savior and confessed my sins to God and trusted in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I then began a traveling music ministry, writing and recording what I like to call Gospel/Americana music. Since then I have recorded 12 CDs in this genre. Tim Malchak Ministries is dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus through music and testimony.

What inspired you to write this release?
These songs are inspired by my desire to share the gospel in song. To win souls for Christ is my top priority.
Describe the writing and recording process
It’s different for each song. Mostly they start with a melody or hook line. Using scripture as a basis for the lyrics. Many of these songs are co-written with my wife Leslie. I recorded this project at His Tunes Recording Studio in Lebanon TN
Any plans to hit the road?
In the wake of the current pandemic, our touring has stopped for obvious reasons. We pray that we will be able to resume our schedule soon.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
Rather than standing out, we prefer to offer yet another choice for people who love acoustic music with a Christian base to embrace along with their favorites.
Who have you been listening to lately?
I listen to many different things from talk radio to bluegrass.
Who are your biggest influences?
My influences are the singer/songwriters of the 60s and 70s. Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, etc.
Tell us about your passions
Playing live music is a major passion of mine. To be able to make people happy and give them a break from the daily things in this life that causes them pain. To further the cause of Christ.
What else is happening next in your world?
Just finished writing my next album. Hopefully will record it by the year’s end.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Tim Malchak
