The Greatest Warrior I’ve Ever Known Was A Woman

The Greatest Warrior I’ve Ever Known Was A Woman

Tell us about yourself and your music

I played College & Professional Football which built my self esteem enough to ask out a beautiful woman way out of my league…she married me and had 3 beautiful daughters with until she died in my arms at home leaving me to raise our daughters age 4, 10 & 12…I became a stay at home daddy….it was during this time that I began composing melodies on the piano…meanwhile my oldest ran away 3 times…so I moved us to a small town in Nebraska where I discovered a music studio on a farm in Wisner, NE. There Dan Kane and a fabulous vocalist named Lisa Rush brought my melodies and my wife Krista back to life. We recorded an entire album to tell our story.

Talk to us more about your latest release

It’s almost like a musical podcast as I narrate the story over my music as Lisa sings Krista’s parts.

What inspired you to write this release?

Well, the attention span of most Americans isn’t very long, so I just released 7 minutes through Facebook to see if I could grab their attention and peak their interest to hear the rest…here’s the link.

Describe the writing and recording process

I would write the melodies and record them on piano…then tell Dan & Lisa the inspiration and story behind each, then Lisa would write lyrics as Krista and Dan would arrange. I would narrate where appropriate.

Any plans to hit the road?

I would love to tell the entire story live with Dan & Lisa…maybe start in Seattle where I played College Football for the Huskies and have the most friends.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Well it’s a Musical Podcast just looking for a home…almost like a Musical Audio Book…you could even say it’s white guy rap that tells a story of love, loyalty, and sadness while celebrating a woman’s great strength. A story of a family overcoming adversity.

Who have you been listening to lately?

I’m a prog rock guy…I listen to Rush, Yes and Above and Beyond a lot.

Who are your biggest influences?

Keith Emerson And Peter Gabriel I guess. Jon Anderson

Tell us about your passions

Football, Music, Parenting, Spirituality and Politics…Leadership. I played football for Don James, a great Leader and on Donald Trumps pro football team in the defunct USFL…not a great leader. I love history. US Grant is a favorite of mine…

What else is happening next in your world?

I have a political APP idea I’m working on, hopefully with Bill Gates as his mom used to take him to Husky games with my Husky Mom…we’re both Seattle guys…
