Tell us about yourself and your music
I’ve always had a passion for music, I remember listening to big and pac in the whip riding lol without a license. That’s just me I’ve always been a rebellion. I’ve seen and been through the struggles, the pain and all. For me, my music is my story and that’s what separates me from some of the other artists in the industry. I’m an old skool baby I’ve been out here and I express myself in my songs. Like I said before I’ve always been a rebellion and stubborn even, and so like even when people got something negative to say about me, for following my dreams and pursuing what I’m passionate about I just go harder huh.
Talk to us more about your latest release
My latest release is called Stuck. It’s one of those songs where I’m just expressing myself in my music is. I think anybody who can relate to my lifestyle, and not some hater lol will feel this track.
What inspired you to write this release?
My boy sent over the beat and it was fire, Shout out to Luke4pres. Once I heard it I went to the studio and just started dropping bars on it. It was just the mood I was in at the time huh I was just expressing myself.
Describe the writing and recording process
I just started dropping bars on it. A couple at a time, no pen I’ve never used a pen to write a song, other than when I was incarcerated. I think we did that track in like 45 minutes to an hr and just put it online. When I know my potential and know that I’ve yet to bring my best work, it does bother me a bit but tomorrow’s a new day if I live to see it.
Any plans to release a video?
Any plans to hit the road?
Please stay safe out there and try not to come in contact with someone who’s not feeling well or thinks they have COVID-19. No events at the time, but be on the lookout for my next single Blame The Game, available May 1st.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
Some artists may not like what I’m about to say but oh well. Maybe 70% of the artists who talk and make songs like there this character and have done all these things are full of shh. And yes some of the artists are eating, have plenty of fans, and make good music when you deliver it as autobiography like it’s a nonfictional story of yours, I can’t say I can agree with that because my music is my book, my story, my life and that’s what separates myself from a lot of other artists.
Who have you been listening to lately?
I listen to all kinds of music. It’s 2020 music has changed a lot over the last 20 yrs but I got T-Grizzly banging in the whip right now. I love to see any of making it out here huh. I only hate those who hate me. But it’s a beautiful thing to see someone make it out here like T-Grizzly who speaking the truth and also from the MurderMitten.
Who are your biggest influences?
I could say artists like Big and Pac made me wanna pick up a pen and paper and start writing rhymes but I wouldn’t even be out here trying to pursue this thing right now if it wasn’t for some of my guys on the inside. I can remember being out there on the yard and hearing em say go out there and do it, at least try. And coming from inmates who ain’t never go see the outside of the gates again, and will never get a second chance like me to follow their dreams, well that’s pretty inspirational for me.
Tell us about your passions
Music would be at the top of the list but I also love designing. Be on the lookout for Let’s Eat Clothing, Coming Soon!
What else is happening next in your world?
I got several projects I’m working on in the lab. Also music videos and a clothing line.
