Tell us about yourself and your music
Simone: I was born and lived most of my life in New Zealand.
Iveta: I was born in Bulgaria and live in Auckland, New Zealand.
IS: We started performing as a covers duet, to write and perform our music. Our current song PSYCHO BABY is probably best described as a mix of adult contemporary, alternative rock, and new age sound.
Talk to us more about your latest release
Iveta: Our sound has been compared to Era, Eurythmics, and No Doubt.
Simone: A fusion of new age, contemporary and alternative rock.
IS: We are very proud of the song. It has social proof already, thousands of views, and shares. It’s a different, unique song…
What inspired you to write this release?
Iveta: When we write and release a song our goal is that it connects with our followers.
It’s our goal that our music entertains people but we also want people to identify with our songs, that it is perhaps uplifting or that reminds them of their life experiences or struggles both good or bad.
Describe the writing and recording process
Iveta: It comes naturally.. it could be a song on the radio, could be a book, a movie…a love story :)
Simone: To me it’s the feeling what the music is saying….the build-up, the emotion you can feel from this music, life experience can become a character that you can feel and imagine.

Iveta: You can expect our album, new singles, concerts…
Simone: You will see a lot of us next year with touring, shows, new songs we can’t wait, we have worked hard to get here.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
IS: We’ve just got a review by CALLUM WAGSTAFF from Music Net Na who said ” Iveta & Simone have joined forces to bring us a unique blend of contemporary new age alternative art-rock and continue to incorporate different aspects of surprising and interesting influences into their music. They have a dedicated fan-base and they cater well to them with their varied musical offerings.”
Who have you been listening to lately?
Simone: REHAB Amy Winehouse….my husband and daughter listen to a lot of Pendulum, Myles Kennedy and electronica and also a lot of music from the last 40 years…..so with that variety playing around me it is not surprising that we have an open-minded view of music.
Iveta: COURAGE Celine Dion…that is what all we need right now.
Who are your biggest influences?
Iveta: Celine Dion. I admire her talent, expression and an amazing career
Simone: Wow so many to choose from….I guess mine would be Jessie J, I love her pitch range, her power and emotion her strength the way she performs but most of all I love her sound, then I like the Celtic Women Singers, their singing is unique, the control with there breathing is amazing and the gentleness with their voices which is still powerful and puts you in a calm dream-like world.
