Premiere of the ‘VIRUS’ album by LONDON SILENCE

Tell us about yourself and your music

My name is Darek Misiak. I’m a composer, singer, and guitarist. In 2014 I founded ‘London Silence’ band in London. Initially, the band consisted of random session musicians from different countries (United States, England, Poland, Croatia). The current line-up includes mainly based musicians (Kenny-lead vocals, Darek-vocals, guitars, Roger-drums, Wojtek-keyboards, piano). London Silence’ sound drew from a variety of musical influences. Their style varies from rock, and pop-rock to rock ballads. Sometimes you can hear progressive rock in their songs. In 2016 the band recorded its first studio album called ‘Stuntman’.

Talk to us more about your latest release

The band’s second album entitled ‘VIRUS’ was released on 6/20/2019 by Lynx Music. The album contains 10 hit songs. I hope that the album will be an interesting event on the music market. In short, it is a pleasant melodic rock. If you are looking for interesting, cool songs then this album is for you.

What inspired you to write this release?

Everyday observing the surrounding world was my inspiration to write lyrics and music to this album. Music and lyrics must form a uniform whole. Like every composer, I would like my album to achieve international success. I hope you will help me to achieve this.

Describe the writing and recording process

When I started the ‘Virus’ album I felt like these sounds came from space. That is why the first song bears the title ‘Sounds from space’. I do not know exactly where these ideas come from. The first line of this song is the most important for me. The line is as follows, yesterday I got a special gift that was a sign of future years’. This special gift was an acoustic guitar that my dad brought when I was twelve. It was my first guitar and that was a sign of my future years.
Like many guys, I’ve always dreamed of traveling throughout the United States. My dreams came true only in my song entitled ‘American Roads’.
Another song ‘Run with me’ is a romantic song about a lonely boy and a girl who one day fall in on themselves and from that moment they run together for the rest of their lives.
The title ‘Virus’ is a song about the viruses of our everyday life that we must fight each day. We do not give up and finally, the virus is defeated. From that moment our life can only be better.
‘London Club’s Waiting’ – after a hard week’s work you meet your real friends in a nearby club and have fun with them. It will help you gain energy for the next week. Man cannot live without real friends like in the song ‘Keep them closer’. You should surround yourself with people who give you positive energy and among which you feel good.
I hope you will analyze the other songs from this album yourself.

The songs were mixed by MasterBozz at Studio Generator and then mastered at Blacklisted Mastering in England.

Any plans to hit the road?

From January 2019, the band is planning a tour to start in Poland, and later in Germany and England. We hope you won’t miss any of these concerts.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I think that my music stands out from the background of other artists by its versatility, melody, clarity and skillful combination of different styles of music. The songs contain interesting guitar plays, vocals, and hit chorus. I’m curious how you will rate these songs.

Who have you been listening to lately?

I’ve been listening to the Fuzzy Sun band lately. Their song ‘Heavy’ is noteworthy. Apart from this recording all the time in my cd player there is ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ of Arctic Monkeys.

Who are your biggest influences?

The following bands had the biggest impact on me: Rush, The Beatles, King Crimson, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Cream, The Clash, Foreigner, The Cars and Yes.

Tell us about your passions

My passion is painting pictures. I haven’t painted anything valuable yet, but maybe the bad luck will end. Maybe one day I’ll become the second Picasso.

What else is happening next in your world?

I look forward to the ski season throughout the year. Skiing allows me to gain some distance to my music. The mountains are good for my musical inspiration too.
