Tell us about yourself and your music
My music is due to the purchase of a new smartphone, on which a music app was preinstalled for free. I played violin as a child but stopped when I was 16. I have nothing to do with music professionally. However, I always kept my feeling for music. Playing on the smartphone with said app led to surprisingly fast results, which I prefer listening to radio music. Let’s see where that leads …
Talk to us more about your latest release
I had some free lazy time at Easter this year and so began the creative process. It began with a 20-second loop I had stored for a year or so, which I developed to the first song. Then another followed, and I thought about titles, at first I had no clue. After some songs I gave the first a name, and discovered a concept all can be integrated into – that it’s about the emergence of the universe and later the world I was born in, and my personal life with its highlights, and beyond this anticipating what’s still to come, how it’s ends and a perspective after all of this, in the end returning to the here and now. This concept led me to add some more songs until it was complete.
What inspired you to write this release?
The 20-second loop I rediscovered in my store. My situation supposedly let me find this theme. It wasn’t on purpose, the theme found me.
Describe the writing and recording process
It began with a tiny loop, to which I added further pieces following my inner feeling how it’s right, often by trial and error, sometimes with an inner imagination. I wanted to complete the concept I found and added more songs until I felt it coherent in itself. After the creative process, I reviewed the files with every musical note, listened to them on several devices and detected more faults which I step by step corrected, and mastered the files. About 20 CD versions later I was satisfied with the result.
Any plans to release a video?
Any plans to hit the road?
No, my music can’t be performed live.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I have found a small fan community in Asia and in particular in Bangladesh. I can’t tell you why this is so. The people I know or am linked to in social platforms uniformly ignore my music. I‘m on several social platforms but otherwise didn’t brand myself. I don’t feel in concurrence with other artists and am pleased when people listen so my songs and just accept it as music.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Dogstar, because I googled Keanu Reeves.
Who are your biggest influences?
The Beatles, Kraftwerk, Chaka Khan (who I have met once), Nile Rogers & Chic and Simply Red (whose concerts I listened for free once in Porto Cervo), Dua Lipa (I attended her concert 2016 in Cologne before she became a world star, but anticipated that she will make it), and uncounted pieces of music I listened to and had a feeling about it.
Tell us about your passions
Fast expensive cars, beautiful people to look at, arts, riding my motorbike, traveling and seeing new places, attending VIP celebrity charity parties or backstage musical events without being invited
What else is happening next in your world?
My normal life and perhaps next year a new album.
