One soul at a time

Tell us about yourself and your music

Hi, I’m Jewish Metalhead, immigrated from Ukraine
Play guitar and write original music, in Pop Punk/Alternative genre. Try to bring important topics, in my lyrics, that not very popular.
Music is my passion since age 2

Talk to us more about your latest release

The latest release “Lost Soul” is about mental health awareness. In the current situation, with this COVID-19 virus, lots of people going through very hard times, financially, and most importantly, mentally. But “we” who are not going thru a bad situation, have a responsibility, to support those in need, at least mentally. And that’s my main message, in this release

What inspired you to write this release?

Last year we lost few superstars Cris Cornel, and Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, as well few not very famous people from my Jewish community. They all have something in common. And that is- commit suicide. A person needs to be very hurt, to do such a scary step- take their own life.
Most recently I heard that the numbers of people who commit suicide grow exponentially. I figured now is more than ever, it’s time to speak up about it. It’s not a very exciting topic, but someone needs to do it.

Describe the writing and recording process

The writing process is very different every time. This song was written in the middle of the night when my family was sleeping. I filled a glass of wine, took my unplugged electric guitar, and start writing. After the lyrics were done, the next day I plugged my guitar, chose a bit on my keyboard, and recorded a raw version on a tape recorder. Then sent it to my guy Vladislav Redkin, in Ukraine, who made beautiful arrangements for this song. Once I was able to get into the studio, I recorded my vocals. Song then was mixed and mastered by TUF Records, here in Philadelphia, where I currently live.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

I would love to, but as of right now, no specific plans in terms of gigs. Currently, I’m trying to finish my new EP. I have another 3 songs that I need to record vocals for.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

2 things

1. I’m the only one religious Jew who writes this kind of music period. There are rap and reggae performers(like Matisyahu, Nissim Black, etc. But not one in Rock genre, who writes original music, at least what I know.

2. I write about topics that no one else wants to talk about(without cursing lol)

Who have you been listening to lately?

I’ve been listening allot to Five Finger Death Punch, lately. Love their style, and the topics

Who are your biggest influences?

It’s too many to mention

Tell us about your passions

Music is my passion

music is my oxygen

music is my superpower

What else is happening next in your world?

I have a beautiful family who I truly love, and willing to die for if needed
