Tell us about yourself and your music

My full names are Dume Israel Ngome. My artistic name is Bro Israel. I went to university to study Mechanical Engineering but didn’t graduate. I was a homeless man for three days. I worked for Thunder Bay Flyers. After several years of ‘eating manna in the wilderness’, I was called into the ministry to serve God. I started studying and obtain a degree in Divinity. I have always had a passion for music. I love God and I love music. I draw my inspiration from the Bible when writing songs and from life in general.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest release is a song, called, Testimony. It is also my first release. I have not yet had a great response probably because I have made no great publicity. Also, my Facebook account has been dormant for several years, and don’t even have an account with Instagram. In General, I have not been very active on social media. But I am working to change things. The release is slow to spread but it will. I will be doing a video soon.

What inspired you to write this release?

God answered my prayers. I would have been dead. They laughed at me, and said, I am frustrated. Life has been hard for me. I want to share my testimony.

Describe the writing and recording process

I wrote the song based on events that have happened in my life. The song was recorded in a home studio. When I discovered SoundBetter through the Internet, I had to send it to one of their artists in L.A for production. The final mastering was done at CD Baby SoundLab.

Any plans to hit the road?

No plans to hit the road especially with the COVID 19 pandemics hitting every nation. I plan to record many Christian songs, make videos on youtube and also distribute online. I am very engaged in my church activities in the ministry.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

God has been standing for me. I will continue to trust Him and work hard. I will just be myself and let people love me for who I am.

Who have you been listening to lately?

I have been listening to many of the videos about the Corona Virus and many artists especially, Paul Wilbur and  Don Moen.

Who are your biggest influences?

My Dad, Mom, and wife are my biggest influences.

Tell us about your passions

Ministry is my greatest passion. I like to serve God. What gets me out of bed in the morning is prayer.

What else is happening next in your world?

COVID 19 is an intruder. The pandemic is affecting us all one way or the other. This is not the kind of world we have known. However, I find solace in God.  Most of my activities now are indoors: I write songs, pray, listen to music, and build my music website.

Thanks for an awesome interview, Bro Israel
