Tell us about yourself and your music
Hi, I’m Nigel 100, I came up with my name a few months back while trying to figure out what was my reason for loving to create music. Which is, to inspire and motivate people in need of hard times. To me, Nigel 100, is more of a prophetic, storyteller. The artist behind the name, who is Jontrae Clark, is from a small city of Franklin, Louisiana, which is a city of lost hope, a deserted city of poverty, and people backbiting each other to eat or get on top or holding each other back from success. I found my escape when I signed up for the military back in 2013. Since a kid, I’ve always been great at rapping and loved poetry, but never had a passion for it. Until that point in the military where I was alone from family, started learning about myself, and other things I would be interested in. I made my first real song around 2015, while I was getting ready to be kicked out of the military, and figured I would stop by a radio station and play it for them and see what they thought of it. They loved it, played it in around Fayetteville, North Carolina, I started to create a small buzz, but couldn’t keep it up because I was doing punishment time still in the military. 2016, I got out, never moved back to Franklin, Louisiana (still hasn’t and will never go back), and decided to approach my music career by storm, with everything I had. Moved to Lafayette, Louisiana in 2018, came up with a mixtape called “The Vibe”, which also developed a buzz, around Louisiana, but I deleted it due to anxiety. “The Vibe” was a mixtape I created for partying, drinking, and smoking, and having sex with a lot of women, and crime. But it wasn’t who I was, it was what people in Louisiana wanted to hear. I took a 2-year break from music, and decided to come back this time, as the real me, and decided I can make a change in people’s lives who listens to my music. And, until this day, this is my goal! #create2inspire
Talk to us more about your latest release
So far, I only have like 7 songs out right now. 6 of the 7 are inspiring and storytelling, but my latest song I’ve just released, people have been asking me to make a turn-up type song, or a song “out the box”, or a little different for people to jam to, so I came up with this song called “Look At Me Now”, produced by a friend of mine, I met on Instagram, who goes by the name, Hennyboi. Slowly, but surely, I have been making my presence known in music, and it feels good to be getting buzz for who I am, so I decided to tell how I feel about in this song, and how my life is slowly changing.

Describe the writing and recording process
I kinda had a chip on my shoulder while writing to this song, because no one supports an artist on their come up. It’s like everyone’s only stuck on mainstream, or they’re just not open to anything new. But as I developed a little buzz, I decided it would be a great idea to tell how I felt about it.

Any plans to hit the road?
Right now, I don’t have any tours, or shows coming up. But, this is my favorite part about making music, so I look forward to this part of my career the most!!
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I just try to stay positive, don’t ride anyone’s wave, stay true to myself, and who I am, and try to maintain patience and pray often, knowing my time is soon coming.

Tell us about your passions
Music is definitely where I spend 90% of my life, but I also enjoy sports, basketball, and football. Also, traveling, socialism, eating, partying, finding places to go out and have a good time.
What else is happening next in your world?
As of now, just focusing on coming up in the music business, everything else right now is on pause.
