Tell us about yourself and your music
Hi, my name is Karl Bierbaumer, I am 33 years old, i’m a singer, songwriter and guitarist. I live in Lower Austria close to the capital city of Austria, Vienna. I started playing guitar by the age of 16, playing some tunes with my childhood friend’s in the garage with a rebuild audio amplifier and a stock music box. By the age of 20 I joined my first band as lead guitarist. I always was impressed by guitarists like Mister Joe Perry, Slash and Jimi Hendrix. After some disagreements within the Band’s if played in, I decided to make a final stroke under my band ambitions and decided to go on as a solo artist.
Talk to us more about your latest release
My first album RISE is out since August 2019. I came up with an idea for the name of the record, by describing the seventh title „shine“. I am currently working on an new EP which I intend to release in April/May 2020. On this CD I play all instruments, including Drums. The EP will contain 3 hard rocking tracks and 2 acoustic tracks. I still got material, which I will work out for another album, so more to come.
What inspired you to write this release?
It was always a dream since I started making music, to release a record. It wasn’t a „nothing to lose“ decision, but something I was in to it, pretty my whole life. I was going through some major decision’s in my life, private as vocational. So I set thing’s up, to focus and concentrate on the goal.
Describe the writing and recording process
The major writing of my record RISE was done in less than 3 month’s. During the writing process I decided, due to some issues which showed up, to program the drums. It become pretty close to real drums and they fit very well in the recording I set up.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
That’s a though one. There are a lot of gorgeous band’s out there. For my part I try to, be myself, don’t forget where I came from, be open to new influences, and when you work together with ArtistPR, that’s a good thing too.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Slash’s Snakepit, STP and some Hendrix, Doors, Aerosmith, GnR. And austrian bands like Alkbottle and STS.
Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influence’s are Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Perry, Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton. And of course the pioneers of blues and rock n’ roll.
Tell us about your passions
It’s music. Or better the progress of creating something new. It is a steady progress of learning, listening, crying, learning and learning again. Besides music, I keep myself fit through mountain biking, running and some muscle excersices. And I try to eat healthy. Cooking became one of my passions.
What else is happening next in your world?
In my world, I hope to go on with my music. The next things on my list will be the release of my EP and simultaneously I’m going to expand from my website to an internet-selling platform for my CD’s. I can refer you to my facebook or twitter page to get the latest news.
