Tell us about yourself and your music
A natural-born hustler. Raised by a single mom that is an artist herself, I am 24 years old and am an independent vocalist, audio engineer, entertainer, and producer. I love singing R&B music with a twist of neo-soul from time to time, but am also diversely emerged into the hip-hop/rap scene. I’ve only started taking music seriously about 3 years ago, Working with people like SmokePurrp, Chefboybonez, 5ive Mics, and Rico Recklezz, I am sure to be an artist on the rise to look out for during 2020. My team and I have taken huge leaps and bounds towards major success by making sure my music touches people and makes them feel that feeling inside.
Talk to us more about your latest release
My latest release is my very first EP titled “FEEL”. Appropriately named considering all the tragedies are going on like COVID-19, the protests, and the wrongful death of George Floyd, “FEEL” is a project that reminds all of us that everybody needs to remember how to stay in touch with our true emotions. Not to become numb to all of the horrible things that overwhelm us, but also to not let it consume our minds and positive energies. All tracks having one word that best describes them, this project is sure to have you thinking about your old love but remembering that feelings move on for the best.
What inspired you to write this release?
I feel like most people, maybe not everybody, but most people have been through gut-wrenching relationships and experiences that make them wish they could not feel anymore. I was so consumed in somebody for so long that I wasn’t giving back the same energy I was putting out. I didn’t want to feel anymore….. but I knew that in the end, I would feel even worse if I locked my feelings away. So I decided to express all of it through music. In a way, it was kind of like cleansing and purifying old feelings to make room for new ones.
Describe the writing and recording process
For this WHOLE project, I did not write down one word of it. It was recorded as I was muttering the words, and I would go back and fill out the blanks. All “Off the Top” as they would say. A good friend by the name of DADA CREATIVE produced the whole project with me singing in his ear while creating so we were able to produce around my vocals. I engineered my self in the booth, mixed and mastered all the records, from the comfort of my studio.
Any plans to release a video?
Any plans to hit the road?
As of now, there are no plans to hit the road until this mess of a virus cleans up but, we will hopefully be making it out to a few states in September and maybe even making our way out to Israel! Stay Tuned things could change in a matter of seconds
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
As an engaged influencer on TikTok and Instagram growing every day, I show people that I am a real person and have real feelings. Not trying to put up this persona that everything is always alright and I’m always doing okay. I put a lot of effort into making sure I connect with my fans by doing live chats with them and having conversations. Maybe even giving them the chance to choose the topic of my next song! I am a lot of my music to help those with mental issues. Showing love to the awareness of depression, bipolar, anxiety, etc. as I suffer from a few myself. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, we just have to find it.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Lately, I have been filling my days with anybody from Frank Sinatra to Erykah Badu. I have also been diving back into System of a Down, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Jimmi Hendrix, and Linkin Park. Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls are also always shuffled in throughout the mix with others like NWA, Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Jay Z. Some of my newer influences tend to be Travis Scott, Future, Drake, Lil Durk, and more. As you can see I listen to quite a bit of different genres. what can I say, good music is good music.
Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences would have to be Frank Sinatra, System of a Down, and Prince for the originals. As for the “New Wave” I would have to say that Lil Durk, Drake, T-Pain, and Jaquees are some of the bigger artists that I look to for inspiration.
Tell us about your passions
I am very passionate about everything I do from Audio engineering to producing, recording, mixing, and choreography. I love to dance, play guitar, go on hikes, and go to the gym. Food is also a HUGE passion of mine. There is nothing better than taking the time to cook a nice healthy tasty meal for yourself.
What else is happening next in your world?
I have a total of six singles coming out one month at a time over the next six months leading up to my debut hit single I have recorded with SmokePurrp. A lot of exercising and eating healthy going on recently getting ready for what is going to be the busiest year of my life.
