Tell us about yourself and your music
Born in 2005 in Rome, Divenere released their first album (“In/Verno”) in 2008. We are looking for a comfortable sound, covered by reverbs, without any genre to follow, Divenere is the big bang of four different heads, which from the sands of Rock through the Shoegaze, the New wave, Indie and Alternative, comes to lick the banks of the Pop, as a sunny day suddenly turns melancholically stormy.
Talk to us more about your latest release
While “Forever” (with videoclip “Willy Wonka”), released in 2018 has given the band a turn towards dreampop and post rock atmospheres, the new album “From Sahara to the Moon” will continue exploring this world with a special focus on melodies.
What inspired you to write this release?
We are constantly inspired by the idea of universality of music, so that anyone, in its own and unique way, can interpret our song personally, and feel different and various sensations.
We would like are music to be a “partner” to travel with in the world of our inner emotions.
Describe the writing and recording process
Everyone in the band takes part in the process. We usually start working on basic ideas, and then step by step we try different solutions until the desired result is reached.
In the recording process, some ideas could also significantly change.
Any plans to release a video?
Any plans to hit the road?
We are currently in the phase of planning our gigs for the release in Spring of 2020 of our new album “From Sahara to the moon”.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
As we are very involved with post rock and shoegaze, we have a particular focus on melodies bringing a pop (“dreampop” could say anyone) component into it.
Who have you been listening to lately?
The last RIDE’s album “This Is Not A Safe Place”, “Oscillation” by Oh Hiroshima. “Every country’s sun” by Mogwai is continually on our player.
Who are your biggest influences?
We are also great fans of Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Slowdive, Explosions in the sky, God is an astronaut, Klimt1918 as they continually inspire us.
Tell us about your passions
Besides music, all band component have variuos interests in figurative arts. Our videoclip “Willy wonka” is entirely produced by ourselves. We like have control on every detail of our releases.
