Tell us about yourself and your music
Well, I’m in a Band called Super73, I’ve been involved in music and bands for most of my life, in some way or another, it’s what my soul dictates to me, so, rather than ‘give up’ I have to dig my heels in.
Anyway, about the music. Super73 are a 4 Piece Alt Rock outfit from Englands Mid-Lands. We’ve been around for a while, but we’ve had a couple of line up changes, and this time, we sound BIG and WIDE and we’re itching to play it to peoples faces.
Talk to us more about your latest release
The latest release, Monkey See Monkey Do, which is due in April. This is a monster of a track, and a monster of a video. We shot it in an Abandoned Hospital in Liverpool, I don’t want to say too much about it because where’s the beauty in seeing it with your own eyes for the first time if I do that?
But we’re ready to release this one properly, and we think, you’ll like it.
What inspired you to write this release?
Hahaha, as soon as you hear it, you’ll know. I know that’s a short response, but. MonkeySeeMonkeyDo is a TUUUUUUUUUNE, that can easily speak for itself ?
Any plans to release a video?
Coming in April. It’s a cracker. ?
Any plans to hit the road?
We do have plans, but at this moment in time, that’s all they are.
Find us on Social Media, we’ll be telling all as soon as we know ?
You wanna come see us live, we enjoy it, so you might too.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
Well. We think about it. We’re all smart these days, we like the gentleman approach. And it doesn’t ‘Suit’ what we sound like, so we like that kind of cognitive dissonance feeling.
Also, with things like Remember.Bulletproof. The First EP, we found the Skinniest person we could and emblazoned the Reiki power symbol of Cho Ku Rei upon his chest.
Empowering something weak with something strong.
Like the positive mental attitude.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Everything. From Reuben to Rag and Bone Man. We all have eclectic music tastes so infuences come from all sorts of places, from Cartoons to Show Stoppers from Riffmonsters to Cellists.
Personally, I’ve been on a Death from Above 1979 Kick again, with a bit of King Blues and Crystal Method thrown in for good measure.
Tell us about your passions
Our jobs get us out of bed, Damn Them.
What else is happening next in your world?
The video release, and some full power gigs. We’re set to chime in.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Mark!
