Artist Interview: Psykick Holiday

Tell us about yourself and your music

We do a Innovative style of music called ‘Pop Noir’ previously pioneered by Box Office Poison. It has a Jazz/punk attitude, classical ambience, hypnotic grooves, poignant or sexy lyrics and a filmic feel. It’s like been throw into a mini film noir.

Talk to us more about your latest release

Out first track was a James Bond Theme ‘A View to a Kil’l that was quite commercial and a bestseller on Itunes as part of the album ‘The Themes Bond… James Bond’ (The Alternative Themes) but we focussed on releasing our original material for out CD album ‘Forever Pop Noir’ which has recently picked up a big following. But we like to switch between commercial and cutting edge and as a fan of The tracks San Francisco & Lets going to San Francisco’ and it being the 50th anniversary of Peace and Love we decided to record this as our current single double ‘a’ Itunes single .But our last single ‘One way Ticket t the Moon’ is still overshadowing it a it

What inspired you to write this release?

Our inspiration for the album comes for many areas anti prejudice, the enviroment, adventures, sexy subjects, paranoia, secret agent films, different countries visited. All the songs tell a story or have something to say.

Any plans to release a video?

Yes. We have about 10 Pop videos out. from ‘A View to a Kill to the latest one for ‘San Francisco’ and 6 others off our album at Youtube (Make sure you spell our name right as it has an unusual spelling ‘PSYKICK HOLIDAY)
Come with me and Psychic Holiday are good ones to check out But I have put a link to ‘One way Ticket to the Moon’ as thats the most popular at the moment.
Look out for ‘Let’s go to SAn Francisco’ video out later this month and subscribe to Future Legend records TV.

Any plans to hit the road?

I am also an established photographer and Artists and will be doing some live concerts at 4 exhibitions in America and one in my home town of London. Just to do something in a ddifferent setting, But I do want to do more gigs this year so drop a line if you want to book us.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

We do a unique style of music. I style and make other people stand out as a photographer so its easy to do the same for us. We also do unique promotions that beat the major record by being more creative or controversial. The interviews I do on Radio and TV usually make a big impack making us stand out.

Who have you been listening to lately?

It various a great deal been a bit busy of late. I think Lady Ga Ga is the best Pop Star in recent years but I’m always discovering new things, Sometimes things I missed from years ago. These things are far more exciting than the bland rubbish pumped out by most of today’s radio or TV

Tell us about your passions
