Artist Interview: O.D.G

Tell us about yourself and your music

I have been releasing independent hip-hop/alternative music since 2014. I’ve been rapping since 1998, but I started writing poems in 1994.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest release is intended for people suffering from the current crisis in Washington DC. There are Demonic Evil Men Of Now, Currently Infecting The Youth (Demon City) and they must be stopped at all costs. I’m trying to articulate a message with my music. My fans and listeners understand that inaction leads to danger and a degradation of the American way!

What inspired you to write this release?

Stress from the constant lies from politicians & so-called leaders.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I utilize Twitter and Instagram multiple times throughout the day. I perform at venues in DC and also travel to large events ties to the culture, Wizards games, AGENDA/MAGIC, etc.

Who have you been listening to lately?

2pac, Public Enemy, Joey BadA$$, Miles Davis, Ice Cube, Gil Scott-Heron.

Tell us about your passions

Knowing that I’ve got sons & siblings who need me to carve a path for them.

What else is happening next in your world?

Bigger things…global things!

Thanks for an awesome interview, Ol Dirty!
