Tell us about yourself and your music
King Kihei, (Pronounced “key hey”) Is An Artist of Hawaiian and African American descent. Born in Honolulu, raised in South Central Los Angeles and Kansas City, King Kihei has experienced many different walks of life. With an uncanny ability to mesh these influences within his lyricism and music, King Kihei brings an unprecedented style to the world never witnessed before.
Talk to us more about your latest release
Paramount is set to be released in the spring of 2018, is being released under the Subliminal Music Group Label, produced by Smart Alec Sartianno.
What inspired you to write this release?
I wanted to make a concept album because I feel like the industry is lacking in this department.
Any plans to release a video?
I plan on releasing multiple videos from the project. Stay tuned!
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m am currently wrapping the album up, I plan on hitting the road in the sprring of 2018.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I lean on my Hawaiian royal roots in regards to imagery. I have a very strong community support system that adds to the branding.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Classical music, I feel like it clears my mind. I don’t want my music to be tainted by the current hip hop.
