Artist Interview: Invisible Sin
Tell us about yourself and your music
I am Rachel Babatunde. I sing and collaborate with various producers for various genre of music. Over the 12 years i have worked with both independent and signed record labels. Currently i am part of a wonderful group called “INVISIBLE SIN”. I am also involved in a music show project on You-tube as well as ensuring my album “ONE WAY” is finished.
Having the opportunity to listen to both 80’s and 90’s music inspired me to sing about real life occurrences that people can relate too as well as dance too. I had always admired how listening to a hit song of Jamelia – “Thank You” could bring me down to tears right on the spot. This made me value the importance of music in a broken person’s life. It also made me want to write similar inspirational music that touches once soul. Music to me is more than mere melody jumbled with the right instrument and sound but a healing ground for people to connect too.
Talk to us more about your latest release
At the moment i am working on a new album with INVISIBLE SIN with various genres and not just dance music like the album we did together back in 2016. This new album is going to be more motivational and inspirational like the 90’s music I treasure so much. It will talk about sensitive topics that people whisper but are shy to talk about. For example, the issue of abuse, being single, racism, money, bills and equality.
What inspired you to write this release?
Well, I reflected back on the last album and realized I only touched on topics like love, jealousy, partying, religion and trust but not on the other topics as listed above. As we all know there are changes occurring in the world at the moment and i want to help people heal from fear and hatred of each other. Moreover, I have seen a lot of people around me dealing with issues to do with the topics i listed above.
