Tell us about yourself and your music

Alternative/Heavy rock band Fictive Firefight is a female fronted trio that will blow your mind. Fictive Firefight is based out of southern NJ, playing shows in the greater Philadelphia/NJ areas.

Talk to us more about your latest release

Tattered, Fictive’s debut EP was released Friday the 13th of October 2017. Its a fully self produced record

What inspired you to write this release?

Shannon, the band’s singer and guitarist, wrote a majority of the material for the record. She’s been writing since she was 14 with a little over 200 rough drafts for various songs to date. Fictive Firefight has too many influences to list ranging from some old Black Label Society metal, Green Day style pop punk and some old Classic put like Dead Kennedys, odd experimental music, some trips rock like Tool and Pink Floyd and a love for Classical composers and film scores.

Any plans to release a video?

Fictive Firefight is talking to a few people to start the music video process. There are a lot of ideas on the table, but nothing set in stone yet. But rest assured, there will be a video coming soon!

Any plans to hit the road?

Currently Fictive Firefight is working on some new Material to get more music out there for everyone and guarantee a longer setlist, but are planing on hitting the road. The band is talking to a possible road manager to set it all in motion.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Obviously we like the color green, so there is a lot of that in all the images and in our singer’s hair. There is the obvious “female-fronted” angle, yet the band is more about the music than the image of the singer. We definitely have a nostalgic love for 90s punk and grunge and 2000s pop-punk.

Who have you been listening to lately?

Other than a ton of audio books…a lot of Nothing More, a really underrated band. Starset, 10 Years, Down Play, Green Day, Tool, Foo Fighters, One Eyed Doll, a lot of Pink Floyd’s older work, a local band This Way to The Egress, Coheed and Cambria, Local H, and our Discover Weekly on Spotify, ha ha.

Tell us about your passions

Shannon likes making random art and redesigning tee shirts, table top games and DND, video games, exploring the outdoors, learning random instruments and writing parodies and watching weather documentaries.
CJ likes, table top games, DND and being a DM, building models, ATVs, video games, the weird wilderness, and making a damn fine drink.
Justin likes to paint Bob Ross style paintings and wood crafting, making percussion instruments out of garbage and busting your balls.

What else is happening next in your world?

Fictive is looking to add some more members to the team to help speed up the process of their next album, making some music videos and hitting the road for some shows. Anything to help the goal of leaving our day jobs.

Thanks for an awesome interview, Shannon!
