Artist Interview: CeeRxkk
Tell us about yourself and your music
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia but grew up in Savannah. I’m 16 so obviously, I’m young. As far as my music goes I just try to be as versatile as possible and appeal to as many sections of the rap game as I can. I say versatile because I can incorporate a lot into my songs, I can just have fun on the song and just make something lit or if I’m in my feelings I’ll make something more painful, really just depends on how I’m feeling.
Talk to us more about your latest release
My latest official release, which is the “Bag Remix”. That song is just one of those songs you could get lit too, not too deep. Something fun and catchy with a little trap to it.
What inspired you to write this release?
I don’t write, everything I make is me just rapping off the top of my head but it was just simply because the first, original “Bag” I made, it was only like a minute or so, real short. And a bunch of people was saying “Oh, it needs to be longer”, and fans seemed to like it and was saying the same. Everybody that heard the song seemed to like it and agree that it needed to be longer, it was also doing good enough numbers so I just went ahead and made the remix and that probably was the best thing I could’ve ever done.
Any plans to release a video?
Yeah, actually right now I have a sort of unofficial video out until we can get a cameraman and what not.
Any plans to hit the road?
Nothing set in stone as of right now but definitely got some dates and locations being put in the works right now.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I feel like just as myself I stand out, from the way I dress to the way I wear my hair. But I try to brand myself and my music as being in my own lane and still being successful because a lot of people my age out my city is rapping now and I definitely feel like none of them is rapping like me, and that may sound good, but it’s really bad because even though I’m in my own lane, the lack of support out of Savannah is crazy, not even gonna hold it. For me at least, I don’t know about anybody else.
Who have you been listening to lately?
A lot of YFN Lucci since he dropped his new projects. The Weeknd, JayDaYoungan, Young boy, Quando Rondo, of course, Young Thug, Lil Durk, and Rich The Kid. It’s more but that’s all I could come up with off the top.
Tell us about your passions
Money, getting to the bag, anything that contributes to me getting this billion dollars that I’m trying to run up.
What else is happening next in your world?
I got some things coming up in the summer, I’ll be vlogging and stuff like that and putting it on YouTube I guess. But right now I’m just really focused on promoting and getting ready to drop my new tape, CREAM: cash rules everything around music.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Chris!
