Arpa d.”We Don’t Care”

Tell us about yourself and your music

My name is Davide Arpa, stage name Arpa D, born in the world in 1984… I’m used to simply defining myself as a singer and a songwriter of pop songs… I have always loved music since I was a child studying piano and guitar and the great passion for bands and singers of the caliber of Beatles, Queen, U2, Elton Jhon, Billy Joel, Eagles, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamon, Oasis, Abba, Led Zeppeling, Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini, Tommy Emanuelcon… led me to write and compose songs in which I always found something to say and communicate to the listener. My artistic path has always been characterized by a passion for Anglo-American pop/rock/blues music which then led me to travel between Europe and the United States. What about my music…. it’s characterized by Pop, Rock, Blues, Funky influences … has been defined also Soft rock, Soul white, Adult alternative… the use of acoustic guitars is predominant as well as chords in major key .. the rhythms are often sustained and enthralling … the lyrics put personal experiences into music real lived and felt in my heart … I have always tried to tell through an engaging sound, the problems related to the pains of the soul, the difficulty of relationship and communication as well as the lack of love that afflicts every aspect of our existence and that so much suffering this lack generates among human beings

Talk to us more about your latest release

My first album “We Don’t Care” will be released in early November. The new album contains 8 unreleased tracks of pop, rock, and funky genres …. each one with a communicative intent and a specific theme …”We don’t care” is an antiwar song built on the wonderful speech of Charlie Chaplin from the film “The great dictator”, “Never again “tells of the very painful betrayals that all we had to undergo in adolescence, “My lady” is the song that warns us of all forms of addiction,
“It’s time to change,” tells the amazement in the face of a world in constant change and the fascination of direct democracy through the web.., “Funky Love” imagines a strange threesome between a man and two women dealing with the theme of anti-discrimination, “You will fly” is a parody about freedom and the importance of its lack, “You and me” is the classic celebration of absolute love between two people, “Tell me why -COVID-19” is a cry of pain of facing the terrible moment in which we are living

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

the desire to stand out at all costs from other artists would lead to my lack of authenticity and sincerity in what I write … My way of creating music is not calculated for commercial or other purposes … I think that real success for an artist is being able to do what a person really feels like doing in life…the success as commonly understood would only be something fleeting and ephemeral … however making music only for oneself would be an equally serious mistake since the purpose of music is to communicate emotion and give something to the others …

Who have you been listening to lately?

I usually listen to all kinds of music … but I particularly love the great international hits Pop and Rock every time… I really love those songs that, due to their structure and better construction, have the ability to be played and sung by the public in sports halls and stadiums…

Who are your biggest influences?

As already mentioned Beatles, Queen, U2, Elton John, Beatles, Cranberries, Paolo Nutini, Ed Sheeran, Oasis, Tommy Emanuelson are the artists who more than any other influenced my way of composing music

Tell us about your passions

music is the greatest passion of my life …… besides of course to the common passions for sports, motorcycles and good food …

What else is happening next in your world?

Unfortunately in everyone’s world, the pandemic is resuming …I hope that all this can be over soon …on the other hand, being forced to stay at home due to the lock-down it’s a source of creativity compositional and further study of musical studies …
