Tell us about yourself and your music
7th Element’s slogan, “It’s all about the 7th Element,” says it all. These six men have accomplished much in their own right, but it’s the Seventh member, the “unseen” one, that is the focal point of the group’s music.
7th Element consists of the four Greene brothers, Curt, Darren, Garth, and Kevin, as well as long-time friends, Marc Dwyer and Dean Dennis. Since the group’s inception in April 1999, the group has accepted a two-part mission: First, to bring a message of truth to the world through music by creating a smooth inspirational sound with a unique mixture of rich harmonies that draw universal appeal; and secondly, to inspire and mentor young musicians to continue the rich a capella musical tradition.
Over the past several years, the group has taken their witness across the country, and internationally as well. Members of 7th Element have performed with or for renowned artists such as Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore, the Winans, Richard Smallwood, Della Reese, Albertina Walker, Allen & Allen, Andre Crouch, and Shirley Caesar, and have also recorded in the studio with the legendary Grover Washington, Jr. and Be Be Winans. While the influence of well-known groups like The Four Freshman, Take 6, Commissioned, and even Boyz II Men can be heard in their sound, 7th Element’s music boasts a fresh and unique perspective.
The success of 7th Element is an unmistakable witness of God’s power and influence. By His grace, their mission will be a success.

What inspired you to write this release?
COVID 19 has parallelized our country and the world as we know it. It has also affected the release of our second project “volume 2.” Four of the songs on this project, we thought were especially significant to this time that we are living in. So we got together, using socially acceptable distancing methods, to develop a video incorporating these songs so we could continue our progress and to spread a message. What the world needs now is love sweet love, Your my inspiration, You raise me and Keep movin’ we believe are songs that will generate encouragement, togetherness, love, and kindness.
Describe the writing and recording process
A long-time dream of the group was to have a fully-equipped studio which would allow us to efficiently record new music. Well, our dream is now a reality and for the past 2 years, we have been hard at work putting the new gear to good use.
Each song is chosen with a deep desire to keep the old relevant songs alive and fresh. We call it the 7th Element touch.
The recording process is long and sometimes tedious. With every layer that is applied during our sessions, you can hear the songs coming together and that motivates us to continue. When we have finished a track it usually means we have been working for about 2 months. The song is sent out for mixing and mastering. It is then sent back to us for a final listening party. When we all agree on it “perfect” it is sent out for distribution.
