Another up and comer is breaking into the Canadian hip hop scene, burning faster than a wildfire since his first live performance in February of 2011. With his debut album Style Points, locked and loaded for release today, Chubs is poised to leap from a new prospect to a potential heavyweight in the rap game. Piloted by rising producers such as Rel!g!on of Wandering Worx Entertainment and featuring an array of talented emcees, this record is something for hip hop fans to keep their eyes and ears open for.

At the impressively ripe young age of 17, and already making an impact on the local scene in Victoria, British Columbia, Harry Butterfield (Chubs) dove headfirst into music, as the results are already beginning to shine through. After teaming up with producer and collaborator Jordan Boyd in 2010, the pair have generated a free flowing formula which consistently allows them to demonstrate their talent and natural affinity for hip hop. By drawing from classic influences via old school legends such as Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious B.I.G., and Nate Dogg while blending their own eclectic, innovative style, the pair are able to create a fresh, fascinating sound.

In celebration of Style Points' release, two tracks from the album will be available for free download. The first track "Puppets," which is produced by Rel!g!on and features Vancouver artists Moka Only and Ras Nikhilesh takes aim at the mainstream music scene. Chubs will also feature the veteran scratch artist, DJ Anger, on his other free track "The Debut."

Chubs also dropped a music video for "Places I Go" this winter, which will be included on the nine track debut due out on April 20. Directed by D. Thompson and featuring fellow rapper Guy Woods and chorus vocals from Lazy B, this is just the first of many music videos and singles coming from the burgeoning lyricist's diverse and growing library. His latest single, "The Buffet Kid" has already been released via YouTube, and will appear on Style Points as well.

With a unique combination of live instruments, samples, and DJs, Chubs is elevating his music beyond the typical mainstream fare to a more intoxicating, creative plateau. Look for more singles to be released throughout the coming months, as well as some intriguing video projects with Mr. Invisible (D. Thompson) due out this summer. Style Points will be available through digital retailers, and a number of his songs are already available for free streaming via MySpace, ReverbNation, and YouTube.
