Angst, honesty, in your face. That sums up the gritty truth emanating from the dark depths of Chloes Open Socket. Founder and songwriter Michael J Marino empties his soul with every song. Politics, society, family, relationships, all are fair game. MJM routinely writes about personal empowerment, or revenge on those deserving such a fate.

Each song is a composition of edgy guitar riffs, solid pounding drums, and an aggressive and angry style on the bass guitar that has put MJM in the realm of killer bassists throughout his life. Chloes Open Socket holds a catchy, commercial quality, without selling out to the Nickelback type, crossover heavy/hard rock genre. Not for the faint of heart, most Chloes Open Socket songs are epic, regularly clocking in at 5, 6, even close to 7 minutes long in some cases. MJM makes it clear, however, none of the songs are ever written in stone, and even though they may be released to one or another type of media, he is always willing to re-mix or re-edit to someone's need.

All of the Chloes Open Socket material is written, performed, recorded, and produced by MJM. Drums are handled by Tony Rook, a young veteran of traveling church musicians, with the ear of an up and coming producer. Rook's Hip-Hop/rock style adds a cultured, modern twist, to the Alice In Chains meets Black Sabbath style of MJM.
