Body: New Indie Hipster Rock-Pop Band is Putting Georgia's Music Capital Back On The Map On December 9th, local band JuBee and The Morning After premiered their much anticipated music video for their new single “On”, to a packed house a the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom in downtown Macon, GA. The crowd that night consisted of “Maconites” from across the community that included local music supporters, other Macon musicians, as well as Mayor Robert Reichert and City Councilman Rabbi Larry Schlesinger. “The premiere was epic,” stated local artist Shagg Colie of Dark House 415. Commenting on the attendance of the Mayor Reichert and City Councilman Schlesinger, Shagg said, “Now that’s when you know the City have your back!” “It was incredible to see such a diverse mix of people all under one roof to show their support and love for local music,” remarked Jennifer Wells, a downtown resident and local music supporter. “Everybody who was there brought their own positive energy to the atmosphere.” JuBee and the Morning After is an eclectic blend of Indie Rock, Hip-Hop, Funk, and soulful Southern Rap. The band features Dwayne “JuBee” Webb, who raps deep, emotion-filled lyrical creations. Danny Effin Davis, bass, brings smooth backing vocals to round out their throwback funk sound. Alex Scarborough, son of Al Scarborough of Stillwater, on drums. Alec Stanley, guitar and backing vocals, and Chelsea Hughes, keys, are both singer/songwriters from Macon, Ga. Jennifer mentioned that during the post-premiere concert by JuBee and the Morning After, a variety of local musicians in the crowd joined the band on the stage for impromptu jams and special collaborative performances. “There were so many of Macon’s talented musicians joining in on the fun, like Denny Hanson, the bassist from Nomenclature. Even Dylan York, owner of Caulfield’s Vintage store hopped up on stage to play the cowbell!” If you didn’t get the chance to attend the premiere, the music video for “On” can be found on both YouTube and Vimeo websites (Listed Below). In just 6 days the video has had over 4,000 views on both sites and has received attention from blogs both locally, nationally and internationally. The group’s first EP, “Yours Truly” is scheduled to be released January 29th, 2011. The music video for “On” was filmed on location in Macon, GA at La Galerie and the Contemporary Arts Exchange in downtown Macon, GA. The music video was directed by Macon’s own James LeGrand and Anthony Ennis of LeGrand Productions and executively produced by JuBee himself and Will Thompson, the personal manager of JuBee and the Morning after and the CEO of Thompson Entertainment Group, LLC.
