Xamasutra’s ‘Positive Perception
Second Album Out Now
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hamamatsu, Japan – March 28, 2017 – Tomo Sekiguchi was once a freestyle drummer, one half of a duo that took to the streets of Japan to entertain. After a move from Japan to Bali he started using a laptop more for his music. This changed his style, and his career path. With a new sound, he took on a new name; Xamasutra was born. From there he went from the streets to VJing in the trance scene. With that he’s dropped his second release in January 2017 entitled Positive Perception.
Xamasutra started production with music that combined acoustic instruments and electronic sounds. The reason wasn’t just the move though. He notes, “The reason I changed my tool was to describe my music not by audio recording, but by MIDI programming because MIDI composing has less possibility of include noise compared to audio recording, and because I can use synthesized sounds for my expression method as well.”
After that, through his VJing experiences with psychedelic trance festivals, he gradually found himself attracted to the texture of sawtooth waves. It has been a really exciting experience for him to reflect his rhythmical experience from drumming into electronic music. After that, he went back to calm style of music, that featured Psy-Acid. The result of all of that is what bred his second release, Positive Perception.
Performing in the places he’s called home, Xamasutra has performed from Bali to Japan, and even in Thailand. Currently he’s looking on performing music from his latest release, as well as getting it heard via radio as well.
