‘The Power of One’ Showcases One Man’s Hard Work
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Jersey – April 4, 2016 – Sometimes the best way to get anything done it to just do it all yourself. That was the case when it came time for Rick Kissinger to record his 2016 release, The Power of One. He wrote, played, performed, recorded and mastered the entire record by himself and he says of the process, “This is only to convey what any one person can accomplish if one has such a desire and the drive to do so.” While a solo man now, he has a rich history playing in bands and being part of a grand, American force.
Soon after turning 18, Kissinger picked up a guitar and started playing around New Jersey. That was until the Vietnam War took a turn. He knew he had to do something more and enlisted. After serving in the US Navy, he was back in the states and playing music once again. From there he was part of everything from cover bands to ones who took on their own tunes, including Scorpion. When that band broke up in 1975, Kissinger took a break, dabbled in songwriting at a hobby, and then decided to get back into music after the dawn of the internet gave new life to indie musicians.
With so much experience under his belt, Kissinger could likely play anything placed in front of him. However, he’s a product of the 60’s and because of that – his sound is a throwback to that rock style. Fans of Larry Carlton as well as Steely Dan would find themselves listening to Kissinger’s latest on the daily. While he has enough material in his back pocket for another album, he’s focusing on the now with The Power of One.
