SEXY-PARTY-ELECTRO-POP Packs A Punch
For Immediate Release
Detroit, December 8, 2017 – Hot off of Winning 12 awards, Indy songwriter, actor and musician Phil Elam has just completed an incredible electro-party- packed album entitled, FACES. The title cut, “Faces”, recently snagged best Original Song at the GenreBlast Film Festival as the featured track from his multi- award winning short film, SWING LOW. “Sexy-Party- Electro-Pop” is music that lets you forget about all the crap that’s going on in the world today”, Phil said. “Just disappear in “sexy-party bliss” for a tick and remember that you gotta have some fun in life.” Phil Elam wrote, produced and performed the entire album.
Elam (which is ‘Male’ spelled backwards) has had his share of challenges recently as he has had to watch his father struggle after suffering a debilitating stroke. This was, unfortunately, after losing his mother to kidney failure when he was only 8 years old. “Creating music and making movies is what gets me through. The importance of celebrating the fun in life while you are able to is not lost on me at all”, Phil explains.
Phil Elam’s musical journey started by studying classical piano at the age of 6. Growing up in Detroit’s inner city made him an easy target for street-fights and street-life. “Many times I got my A$$ handed to me walking home from school. However, no matter how bad it got I always found safety in my room; a world of music and movies”, Phil said. “I know there are so many other people getting their A$$es handed to them everyday. Hopefully, FACES will remind them that there’s still lots of stuff to be happy about.”
Phil Elam has opened for several national acts including Nelly, Village People and others. Phil can also be seen in Eminem’s music video, “Rap God”. Right now, you can even catch Elam crushing the Robot in MGM Motor City Casino’s latest commercial. Elam was originally hired to be a deep background extra, but when the director saw him on set he was quickly upgraded to a principle role. The same thing happened while filming an upcoming movie that will be released next year. Phil is unable to even disclose the title, but after being hired as an extra the director wrote a brand new scene with lines specifically for Elam after spending time with the artist. “Always show up ready to work on time with a great and grateful attitude. Words to live by.” Phil Elam said.
Phil’s current plans are to expand sales and distribution on FACES. The first single from the Album is “White Girl Wasted.” Phil is giving away a free mp3 download of the song to the first 1,000 people who request it at HulleonRecords@comcast.net. Subject, “White Girl Wasted”mp3. Look for Phil Elam to get on a national tour in 2018 plus starting production on the feature film, SWING LOW.
