LAURA AINSWORTH A DOUBLE NOMINEE FOR AMG AWARDS
Also Preparing For International Tour In 2015 and Third Studio Album
Dallas, Texas, United States of America – December 5th, 2014 – The days of big band and the Rat Pack in Vegas might seem to be far away, but when Laura Ainsworth sings, it’s as if the old spirt had never left the showroom.
Her debut, Keep It To Yourself, and its film noir-inspired follow-up, Necessary Evil, scored critical raves, worldwide airplay and comparisons to classic Capitol albums of the 1950s. Both showcase her rich, three-octave voice and “nu-vintage” jazz style that harkens back to the smoky and sensual days of Peggy Lee and Julie London. That style comes naturally to her, having grown up watching her late dad, big band sax virtuoso Billy Ainsworth, back Tony Bennett and Mel Torme. And she is drawing fans far beyond the vintage jazz scene. World-renowned South African flautist Wouter Kellerman called Necessary Evil “a timeless album.” And classical pianist Michael Lewin declared her take on “Love For Sale” the “best ever.”
Currently, Ainsworth is planning her third album mixing retro styles with her own unique twists, such as a collaboration with a classical harpist, while preparing for the Artists Music Guild Heritage Awards in November. She is nominated for both Best Female Vocalist and Best Mainstream Artist and will perform on the national telecast.
Ainsworth is also preparing for her first tour of India and Dubai in January 2015, where she will also be recording new music with top-selling international music stars Ricky Kej and Oliver Sean. Her live shows will be videotaped for release on DVD.
Ainsworth’s albums are available both as CDs from CDBaby and as digital files from iTunes, Amazon and all other good online music websites, and can be sampled on YouTube, ReverbNation and her home page at www.lauraainsworth.com.
