Miami, Florida – January 10, 2011 – Today the Miami bred Collective Project1804 releases their much anticipated sophomore project, “Lady Duchess”. This will be Project1804’s second major release, and their second official project under independent label NETTworksLLC. Going strong off of the buzz generated online off their debut EP “The Under Dawgs”. Project1804 will be distributing their new release “Lady Duchess” on their website http://www.project1804.com for a free download. “Lady Duchess” will feature the third member of Project1804 and long time producer Ludas Charles, who also co-produced Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”; to deliver a new and amazing body of work.
Project1804 has been together now for over nine years. Wanting to separate themselves from the pack they decided to title themselves as a “Collective” instead of a group. Touting their sound as “Hybrid Music” Project1804 marries elements of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Rock to form their unique sound. “Lady Duchess” rap wise brings a heavy emphasis on emotion and polish lyrically; reminiscent of such rappers as Kanye West, Eminem, and Lupe Fiasco, “Lady Duchess” is a Hip-Hop fans dream. On the singing front “Lady Duchess” is a proverbial all you can eat of singing styles; at moments your reminded of Bryan Adams, then you hear a little Justin Timberlake, with a hint of Sinatra thrown in for good measure.
“Lady Duchess” is a project conceived by Ludas Charles. “Listening to music lately… I just wanted to talk to women differently” says Ludas. “I mean to many songs talk at them, and not to them.” Ludas who produced all of the songs on the new project is hoping to really turn some heads. “We just took our time putting this one together.” Ludas says about him and long time friend and group member Fleurimond. “I just wanted to show people that you can do rap without being misogynistic.” says Fleurimond. “We wanted to take our music to 2.0 status. Giving you a great body of work.”
With songs such as “Morning” and “Someone Special” you can hear what this Collective is talking about when they say “Hybrid Music”. “Morning” is a very laid back Hip-Hop/Pop track about a special someone in their lives, and the morning they share. Fleurimond says. “Breakfast in paradise/ I could see forever in her eyes/ Her eyes never tell me lies… While the song “Someone Special” is a Rock ballad about someone who despite seeing the ugly side of their loved one they stuck around; Ludas says: I removed the mask/ And the tinted glass/ And reveal the filthy, disgusting me. “Lady Duchess” promises to be something special with amazing songs such as these.
People seem to enjoy the different sounds Project1804 come up with every time they do a new project. “Lady Duchess” is especially resonating on a local level and the collective will be performing non-stop to promote this new release. Project1804 is also looking to capitalize off the online popularity built off their strong buzz from “The Under Dawgs” EP. There success will be rocketed even further by future reviews coming from Pitchfork, GorillavsBear, and many other music and entertainment publications.
After a successful first time out, Project1804 looks to continue with a well executed follow up project, “Lady Duchess”. Capturing the best in Hip-Hop, Rock, and R&B; they look to take the world by storm. Gaining great traction with two strong singles in “Nothing More” and “Someone Special” which can be found on their website http://www.project1804.com , and a good Internet response from fans and critics, the Collective seems ready for the world at last.
Project1804 is signed to NETTworksLLC, and “LadyDuchess” will be released independently under NETTworksLLC.
