JD Walker’s Debut Single “Too Far From Heaven” On Country Radio Now
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nashville, TN — April 19, 2016 — JD Walker’s debut Single “Too Far From Heaven” is playing on Country radio now. This is the first single off the upcoming EP from the singer-songwriter that’s set to be released sometime in June.
In January CDX Nashville reported producer Kent Wells signed singer-songwriter JD Walker to a production deal with (GTR Nashville) for the upcoming EP. Walker co-wrote five of the six tracks, including the debut single that is currently playing on Country radio. Listeners and fans can expect to hear a couple uptempo songs. There are two duets worth mentioning as well, the first “1 Tequila, 2 Tequila” featuring Country artist Mark Cooke, and the second “Wish I Would’ve Kissed Her” featuring Andrea Pearson, a gifted vocalist and up and coming country artist.
Walker states, “’Too Far From Heaven’ was the first song I recorded for the EP. This isn’t something I talk about much, but I lost my wife to a rare form of cancer just seven months after she was diagnosed. When I recorded the demo we captured some raw emotion. Months later I needed to do that again, but didn’t know how to prepare for it. After talking with my Dad he said, ‘Son, I know it was hard the first time, but you’re just going to have to go in there and do it.’ Ciphering on that, I decided to take some pictures of her into the studio with me. During the session I had tears streaming down my face. It’s recorded in her memory. I believe this is a song that just about anyone can relate to as we’ve all experienced, or at some point will experience, loss in our lives. It’s a certain. If the song touches people then I feel it’s serving a purpose, if my music helps them then that truly makes it all worth it to me.”
Co-writer Tony Justice believes, “It’s a great heartfelt song, JD done a great job with it and I’m proud to have written it with him. If it weren’t for him, giving me a place to stay and feeding me when I was recording in Nashville, no one would have ever heard my music. He is a great guy with a huge heart. I hope you all download it. ” A fellow musician noted, “This song is beautiful, angelic, sweet and sad all at the same time. Not many songs can make you feel that many different emotions, when one does you have something special.” One fan said of it, “It’s definitely what Country music is about. A song about real life, real pain that touches your heart.”
“Too Far From Heaven” has be in the test market with several music row reporting stations. It’s been receiving a very high positive response rate from listeners.
