Band Line up:
Crimson Guardian is Oregon’s own NW Original Hard Rock/Metal Band. There classic metal style mixed with new blood of a more modern day edge has created a vibe and a class all to there own, compared to non. In a time when everyone follows, or plays in a cover band, Crimson Guardian stands out from the crowd yet at the same time accepts everyone as one. The Band is a Power house of metal spanning rhythm, bass, lead, and drum patterns that are sure to catch the ear of just about everyone. Crimson Guardian is a Hard Rock/Metal fans band. If you like good tasty riffs, this is your band. In the past, after shows Crimson Guardian has been referenced in the same category as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Dio, and Megadeath. This NW indi band turns heads where every they go, and they are worth your time and support.
Talk about the band history and how you started:
Crimson Guardian is the vision of our singer Dave. Having written tunes over several years the vision started to grow and take shape. Through social networking an add was placed and Sean (Drummer) came to join. The two men started to jam through a process of elimination and created a unique and original sound. Through local networking other band members where brought in. Ideas were brought forward and together the two forged this sound and metal monster that has locally become know as “legendary” , “Epic” and local “Supers Sensations”
Talk about the highs and lows so far:
Adversity and challenges run hand in hand within the music world Crimson Guardian is not exception to this. Challenging factors raise its ugly head from time to time but the band is determined to seek out new and innovative ways to deal with and over come these operational elements . When everybody is tight and right on its like a massive wall of metal and a bull on a stamped coming right at you, and that is amazing! Amazing when you feel the stage underneath you rumble from the sure power that’s coming forth from the low end. The energy and the connection with the audience erupts the band and the fans get lost in time and the music takes you to the next level. Those are the times you live for.
Talk about the album, where it was recorded, how long it took and who produced it:
The idea for Sands of Time came about as the band was going through an adjustment and growth phase. The guys were seeking out new tones and exploring different aspects of what could be brought into the group. The album was recorded with Roadrunner Studios in Eugene Oregon, Marshall Falcon was the recording engineer and it was produced and edited by Falling Dave Productions. In the fall of 2015 Dave went in to lay the foundation of the rhythm tracks then in the Spring of 2016 drum tracks were recorded, we built the rest from there, The entire process took a period of about 15 months giving everyone’s schedules and availability.
Talk about your influences:
Crimson Guardian pulls in influences from all over the place. The local bands who are out playing are inspiring. People, the people who have supported us throughout the years and who have and still encourage us to strive to play music there the biggest influences of all. There are times of ups and downs and its those people who reach out to us as individually or as a group and give us encouraging support to continue on are the reasons why this music, this band keep going on.
Talk about what makes your band different to other bands:
The members each have a vast background in musical compilation a couple of the guys are classically trained in apparition and theory. The music is arranged in such patterns as to end on the up beat, drive the foundation when needed, and switches gears at critical moments in the songs. The lyrics Dave rights are true real life experiences that many of the fans and music appreciation buffs understand and relate to their own struggles in day to day life. Most of all the never say die attitude of the guys, sticking through just about anything life has thrown our way. When other musicians quit we keep going. Its that drive and passion, that hunger and thirst for playing and doing shows. We don’t want to sound like everyone else that’s boring, we kind of do our own thing, makes it a bit harder but also keeps it real and helps keep perspective in check.
Talk about the bands future plans:
The band is working to break into new markets not only locally but around the world. Expanding our current available pool of venues, networking with local and regional musicians and bands to build the foundation blocks to be successful. Working on reaching new people, seeking out radio play and strengthening our overall tone and image. Working on submitting for legs on tours and for festivals. There is even talks about going back and re releasing the Kingdom of Pain album with additional two unreleased tracks for 2018. Play lots of shows and expose the music to who ever will lessen and really get out there and bring the music to the people.
Sands of Time
“Crimson Guardian, “Into the Nightmare” — The boys waste nary a blink driving incisors into this thunderous warhorse; Gatling guns may only behold drummer Sean “Flames” Quinnett’s ever-shifting (mostly white-lipped and frantic) tempo in awe of its accuracy and celerity. “Pray for forgiveness / pray to the sun,” Dave Jones commands over a razor-sharp charge of hell-dashed metal (clapperclawed by Jones and Greg George, sawing their machines to paint chips and coils), like the primo stuff adults reviled and posers thought too hard. But none will heed your woebegone wails, because if your nightmares move at this speed, chances are y’ain’t wakin’ up. Cory Frye from Gazette-Times -2013”
