Artist Interview: Young Steevee
Tell us about yourself and your music
Hi, I’m Steven Rubio AKA Young Steevee and I’m a full-time worker Cutting Rocks the legal way, haha, in my spare time I like making music, I’m an Artist, my own Engineer, & my own director, & writer. I’ve been making music the past five years now, just trying to find my sound and where I fit in with the music. I first started with trap music, went onto doing old school cause I was about the Chronic (Dr.Dre’s Album), got into Reggae, started freestyling to all the new music today, but still continuing to find my sound.
What inspired you to write this release?
Everything I was going through like I said, getting out of a relationship, dealing with one of my best friends that were apart of our group passing away, being behind on bills and being put on probation, but that’s just life, so I try to stay looking at the positive things in life cause I have a son who helps me deal with all my problems, as long as I have him, I forget about all the negative things going on in my life.
Any plans to hit the road?
I wish we were that big already, been plotting on it this past couple of years, but still no luck. hopefully in the future though.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
PCP Records consist of three people in our group and we all have our own styles, we don’t sound like all the other big artist or names in the game, we’re just in our on a lane.
What else is happening next in your world?
Hopefully being successful in the music industry, but if that doesn’t work out, I could just be a director and make music videos or movies.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Steven!
