Artist Interview: The MoneyTrain Bandits

Tell us about yourself and your music

Well i am DaKid Kyte im from Atlanta, Ga i am the c.e.o, a producer, and an artist for MoneyTrain Recordings. I am next to the youngest out of eight siblings . 6 boys and 2 girls. I was born in October the 25th to be exact.(Hahahaha scorpio baby)
Basically i got out of jail and off probation in 2012 i had a dream while i was locked up that i was locked up again so when i got out i hit the ground trucking chasine this music. I feel like music saved the kid.
My music is what i have been thru and what i am going thru i call it real rap. I want people to know that it does get better just dont give up and always believe in YOURSELF.

Talk to us more about your latest release

The latest release from MoneyTrain Recordings is the A.O.2 mixtape available at audiomack.com right now go check it out 17 tracks of fire. Its me and Bandit_Slims project but we have featured on there Mr.Krunk, Donna_Renae, Don Gotti, Indo, Loco, and Balboa its an all around dope tape.

What inspired you to write this release?

Everybody from my city/state was asking for it plus we had decided it was time to put the train on the map.

Describe the writing and recording process

Well basically me and slim hit the lab and listen to beats if one catch our ear we vibe to it till we come up with a hook (which doesn’t take long) then we record the hook after that we write the verses. Sometimes we might just be like fuck a hook we just gone flow back to back.

Any plans to release a video?

Yes we have two videos out now off the A.O.2 tap but we plan to do at least 2 to 3 more i wanna do like a mini movie i thank that will be dope.

Any plans to hit the road?

May 13th Phillips Arena Atlanta Georgia we will be opening up for The Weekend

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Well thats a good question, but to be honest i been developing my flow since i started making music. Im really still developing it because im never satisfied. I try to make every verse harder then the verse before that one so yeah its crazy but it keeps me bettering myself as an artist and im the same way when im making beats. I go in the lab to make MoneyTrain Recordings music thats a different type of music, its pain, love, happiness, heartache, depression, headaches, sleepless nights i can go on forever. We capture all of that and whats crazy is we done went thru it and came out it my mama stayed praying for us love you Wanda Willis.

Who have you been listening to lately?

@504fiend , @@1future , that old fieldmob they first two albums before dtp, @solomonwillis,Donna-Renae still bump pac and big most definitely, uh let me see i still bump that yfn lucci wish me well , and i listen to that lauryn hill and method man say song from that 4/21 the day after album by method man dope music i love instrumentals too.

Who are your biggest influences?

My little brother DatBoi Slim and my sister Donna-Renae i look up to them two they are what you call loyal to the bone gristle. Plus they
dope artist as well, and of course pac

Tell us about your passions

My family we was raised close so its not no going weeks or even days with out talking. Like i love them guys all my brothers my two sisters and all my nieces and nephews the whole family. I gotta dope family yeeeaaahhh(Hahahaha) they cool.

What else is happening next in your world?

Im trying to put this mini movie together consisting of three music videos telling a story featuring music from the A.O.2 tape. Hopefully by the time that does what its gone do we will be hitting the fans with the Me And My Brother Album. Oh yeah May 13th Atlanta Georgia Phillips Arena MoneyTrain Recordings opening for The Weekend.
