Tell us about yourself and your music
If you are not familiar with the group, “SPECIAL REQUEST featuring Rey-T”, let me introduce you to MRE Entertainment/Prime USA Records/Ingrooves-Fontana/Sony Red Recording artist: Reynard Thomas (aka Rey-T) Lead vocalist, Mark Hunter (aka Hunter) Guitar/Keyboard and Gary Hunter (aka “G”) Keyboard. The group came together in the early 1990’s and have elevated themselves into, one of the best R&B/Pop Bands to grace the stage.
Each individual is a consummate performer and have blended their sounds into a truly unique special form of music all their own. “SPECIAL REQUEST” additional band members are: Ron Chaisson (aka Ron Joseph) Bass Guitar, Dominic (aka Dom) Saxophone, Clarinet, & Horns, Nelson Yee (aka Nels) Drums. Additional band members are subject to change.
The “SPECIAL REQUEST” music has reached a world-wide audience; both here in America and Abroad. Performing in Tours, Festivals, Television (MTV Cribs, True Life etc.), Movie Sound Tracks (Adam & Eve, No Alternative etc.) and much more. The group has sold over 450,000 CD’s and counting. “SPECIAL REQUEST”, have over 15 million plays/view on MySpace (www.myspace.com/primeusarecords). They are on iTunes, Rhapsody, Spotify, E-Music distributed by Ingrooves (UMG). The band has an electrifying stage presence; their live performance has an energy that tantalizes and rocks the crowds, bringing them to their feet! “SPECIAL REQUEST” has a style of showmanship, which inspires the audience to participate; as if they were part of the show.
Talk to us more about your latest release
Special Request Ft Rey T has a new release entitled “I Feel Sorry For You” which has a blues feel to it, the song is distributed by Ingrooves/Universal/UMG.
Rey T also has Three (3) singles set to drop in the 1st Quarter of the year with the 1st being entitled “Hoochie Koo” the 2nd People Chasing Money and the 3rd entitled “Sometime I Do.
They complete CD will drop in the summer of 2017 but has yet to given a title but you can bet it’s going to be fantastic CD.
What inspired you to write this release?
I’ve worked with some of the best artist in the world and my teacher was the greatest to ever grace the stage and mic he told me that life is the greatest book to write about and so I’ve been writing about events in life and in the world
Any plans to release a video?
We are shooting videos for all the new releases and they should be posting soon!
Any plans to hit the road?
we are planning the People Chasing Money Tour which is set to start in Kansas City in the Spring!
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
We are using social media, radio to promote our music will sale cd’s, photos etc at our live venues
Who have you been listening to lately?
I don’t listen to a lot of music but when I do, it’s Luther Van Dross, Smokey Robinson, Prince, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Whitney Houston (I love me some Whitney) Elvis, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake!
Tell us about your passions
My family is what keeps me going, they’re the reason I live and why I bust my butt to estavlish myself and one of the best to take the stage!
What else is happening next in your world?
I’m establishing my radio stations (www.primeusaradio.com, www.moneyruleseverythingradio.com, www.londonwebradio.com) Television shows (Prime USA Television), Production Company (Prime USA Productions), and Publishing (Prime USA Publishing, because once I decide to stop touring and recording I can go behind the scenes and do the same for someone else!
