Tell us about yourself and your music
Phantom City is a band that doesn’t like to fit a cookie-cutter mold. Each of our originals reflects our diverse musical tastes and backgrounds while still remaining true to our ‘voice’, which is grounded in Americana, roots rock and little bit of funk. Our subject matter is politically progressive, humanistic and heartfelt.
Talk to us more about your latest release
We’re finishing up our 3rd CD as a band which will be released in the first half of this year. It’s our most sonically lush recording with our usual variety of genres.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
We try to stay true to our sound. We’re not an emo-band. We’re not hard rockers although we can bring it. We are an Americana-Rock band and that’s the image we try to project.
Tell us about your passions
Marching with the multitudes for social justice, baseball, Art-Deco culture, reading, wine-making and animals all play important parts in my life.
What else is happening next in your world?
My wife and I are planning a cross-country trip with at least 3 baseball games in stadiums we haven’t visited yet.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Steven!
