Artist Interview: Eric Jericho
Tell us about yourself and your music
What’s up guys, I’m Eric. I’ve been producing for 2 years now. I lean more towards the alternative genre than any other. I only produce in my closet so if you want to start producing know it can be done at home!
I was born in South Carolina & moved to Florida when I was 11. Something awful happened in my family but that’s for another interview. when you listen to my music I want you to understand I put every ounce of honesty in every lyric. I understand what it’s like being a teenager and honestly it’s not an easy task. everyone needs there own space to be free and that’s what I try my hardest to create in my music.
Talk to us more about your latest release
I actually created my newest release louder for my friend and I. I wanted him to feature on one of my tracks but he never did so I took care of it myself. its funny when people give you ideas and don’t follow up with there portion.
Louder is a track where you can just chill and relate to every word. not only is about not rushing into relationships but its also about not caring what other people have to say about you and your future. Remember YOU SET YOUR OWN LIMITS. And while you listen to “louder” remember to turn it up!
What inspired you to write this release?
My friend has a booming surround system in his car and we always blast our favorite songs and literally drift away into the sound. It was as if I needed to release my thoughts into this track and that’s exactly what I did. I get my inspiration from everyday life, unlike most famous people in the music industry who just write about what they think will sell, I prefer the honest side of music.
Any plans to release a video?
No plans at the moment but I would love to release music videos for a few of my tracks, I will say this, my brain is quite creative and I have a few crazy ideas that I will try in the future.
(embrace your creativity)
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m just beginning my career so not yet but I will be performing on March 22, 2017 for Coast 2 Coast so I am pretty excited about that, I have an idea that I won’t share here on how I will perform.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
Honestly I am just myself. I do try to stand out because the world that we live in does lack creativity, I plan to bring that into existence. not saying everyone is uncreative, its just harder for some people to be themselves as they are afraid of being judged by others.
I myself couldn’t care less what people have to say about me. I know who I am and what I want in life and I want everyone to be the same way!
Who have you been listening to lately?
Lady Gaga and Lorde are the biggest names I have been listening to. the others are underground artist I find on soundcloud, however Chance the Rapper played a role in my creativity process as well.
Tell us about your passions
wow besides music? I would have to say my friends, I don’t have a lot of friends and the ones I do have I know will be by my side all my life. its just a deep connection we share. I keep my circle small. you cant trust everyone!
What else is happening next in your world?
The big Coast 2 Coast performance is the only thing coming up for me! very excited about that.
it will be in Orlando at 9pm and I have performed in front of big crowds before but never my own music.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Eric!
