Artist Interview: A.G.Q
Tell us about yourself and your music
A.G.Q. was born and raised in Inkster, Michigan. A former member of the rap duo “Menace to Society”, A.G.Q. is pursuing his solo career in order to show you the creativity that he wants the world to discover.
Talk to us more about your latest release
“On the Flo” is a club banger that put you in the mind frame of a girl at the club releasing stress, pain, or whatever else that she might be experiencing. All she wants is to enjoy the moment as her body moves to the rhythm of the mixing and changing from the d j.
What inspired you to write this release?
While I was at the club, I witness this girl seductively dancing by herself in front of a mirror not caring who was watching. She acted as if she had no cares in the world and if she did she was releasing them at that moment. She was shaking, popping, and dropping her ass to the rhythm of the beat. She didn’t want to bothered and if you bothered her, she told you to get lost. This is the very thing that made her attractive.
Any plans to release a video?
I’m currently interviewing different directors to see who comes up with the best direction for the video. This is not an ordinary song and I don’t want an ordinary script to the song.
Any plans to hit the road?
March 17, 2017 at the Bull Frog in Redford, Mi. Doors open at 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
I’m currently in negotiations to tour. I will keep you updated once everything is final.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
A.G.Q. has a unique style and voice that separates him from the rest. There is some good talent out there and by the industry being so congested, being original and not copying other artists is what makes him be in his own lane.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Eminem, Big Sean, Dej Loaf, Drake, Future
Tell us about your passions
Life itself. We aren’t guaranteed tomorrow so my model is to live life like there is no tomorrow.
What else is happening next in your world?
I’m currently reaching out to my old friend “Wesley Snipes” so he can give me some pointers in the movie industry.
Thanks for an awesome interview, Kelvin!
