Tell us about yourself and your music
I am currently based in Portland, OR. I’ve been finding myself musically and sort of reconstructing my sound for about a year now. I’ve finally gotten to a place where when I make a song and I play it back, I think “that’s an original” and I can stand by it confidently. I really feel as though Portland and the experiences I have had here have helped me make the musical transition that I’ve made and as an ode to that feeling, my next project will be titled 503 Degrees referencing the area code and the growth from acute skill to obtuse talent that I’ve worked hard to obtain. This project will encapsulate the different sides of me as an artist and as a a human in general; meaning that I am transparent about my life in the form of art.
Talk to us more about your latest release
The latest release that I’m pushing hard right now is my song “Feel Like”. It’s vibe music. It’s the kind of thing you throw on and instantly feel like you should chill and visualize the person who makes you feel the way I felt when I wrote it.
What inspired you to write this release?
Honestly, I started writing it at the gym. The concept and the melody kind of cane to me before I made the music. Someone was working out near me with a partner and they just asked the question “what’s it feel like.. ” as they were spotting them. The song I was listening to at the time was probably something by Eric Bellinger. He’s my favorite Singer/songwriter right now so I kind of study his work. Anyway, that combination of things created feel like. As far as visualization, I don’t really want to give my interpretation of the song because art speaks differently to everybody so I like people seeing my art however it best fits their mind to see.
